The cellogroup of the Metropole Orchestra does not only perform as a part of the orchestra but also as a celloquartet! What started as a stint in the corona lockdowns (playing with 4 people was possible most of the time) ended up being a solid new chamberensemble. 

 Metropole Orkest Cellos released an album and still play many concerts of their own and appear on albums of other artists - latest one being harpist Remy van Kesterens new album Leave what you know. 

ox Sturnus is a vocal collective of creative singers and musicians from the Netherlands, Norway, Ukraine, Iceland and Denmark with the aim of bringing women in music together around the creative process across age, nationality and musical background. The group comprises of Margriet Sjoerdsma (NL), Thora Sveinsdóttir (IS), Maryana Golovchenko (UA), Annie Tångberg (NO), Julia Werner (NL) and Anne Marie Roel Messerschmidt (DK). Previous members are Maaike van der Linde (NL) and Sanne Huijbregts (NL).

For this reason, the group works creatively to explore and unfold the compositions of individual members or collaboratively to improvise, arrange or give shape to new ideas, resulting in an exciting alchemy of vocal harmonies, delicate string arrangements and various other instrumental features that move within genres such as folk, jazz and the more experimental vocal music.

Most recently, the group has worked with self-written pieces inspired by female artists in their various native languages - these include Tove Ditlevsen, Tjitske Jansen and Anna Eva Bergman, to name a few.

West Side Trio accompanies silent films, do spacious performances and play concerts. The special WST sound is based on string instruments with live electronics and voices- Our first CD "Apocalyptic Sunrise" was released in 2015.

We also collaborate with different artists.  Coming up this year is a tour with singer Margriet Sjoerdsma and Odelion Orchestra in Indonesia as well as a tour in the Netherlands and Belgium with singer Jonathan Jeremiah

We recorded numerous CD's and did many sessions for movies and commercials. -Some of them with our own string arrangements: with Yentl en de Boer (live at the Concertgebouw), Margriet Sjoerdsma, Sonja van Hamel and Bill Laurance.
